Health is not the goal, it’s the starting point for an aligned life.
I am passionate about creative living. Making your life a piece of art; fresh, alive, and an expression of who you are in each moment. To carve out your unique path with every choice you make, and to be guided by the powerful yet delicate force that lies within you, that’s what makes me excited.
In order to do this - to have the courage to bring forth your gifts, to do what makes your heart sing without following others, to be receptive enough to hear life’s guidance - you must have good health.
My way of looking at health is inspired by ancient wisdom, particularly the Yogic Sciences and Ayurveda. The Bhagavad Gita teaches us that in this life we must act; living a conscious life isn’t about renouncing or rejecting modern living. But how can we move through life in a way that frees our minds rather than creating more suffering, attachment and more ego?
Everything that I teach is based on these three pillars of holistic health: Clarity (of body and mind), Connection (to something bigger) and Creative Living (walking your unique path).
CLARITY IN BODY AND MIND
My Three Pillars of Health
Health is the starting point and fundamental foundation
You can’t hear your inner guidance if you are anxious or inflamed. When your vessel is clear, you stop mistaking cravings for intuition or trauma for destiny.
CONNECTION TO SOMETHING BIGGER
Spiritual orientation is the missing piece in our modern world
When your relationship with the living universe feels alive, and you feel you are being guided, your actions in the world stop being about ego, achievement, approval or status. Your work feels more like service, and love in action.
CREATE FROM TRUTH
Taking action is a crucial part of growth
Taking action requires you to stop playing small. It asks you to be courageous, to believe in yourself and to move beyond your limitations. Without this step, spirituality and health may dry up because there’s no output, no service, no expression.
Hi, I’m Aja
I’ve always been drawn to the things that make life feel alive. To me this consists of connecting people to their Spirit, and to each other. My favourite ways to celebrate this aliveness is through food, music, healing conversations, nature, movement, and stillness. I love learning what makes people light up. Doing what I can to help them soften and drop their tension. And creating experiences that help them get a little closer to who they are underneath the conditioning, the beliefs and the limitations.
Cooking is just one of the ways I do that. It’s how I connect with people, with the elements, with something bigger than me. When I cook, I feel present. Grounded. Curious. It’s not about perfection or impressing anyone, it’s about creating something real and nourishing from whatever’s in front of me. Co-creating with life’s treasures. And using food as an act of love to others.
I’m endlessly inspired by the creative intelligence behind all of life, especially how it interacts with our body, how we can access it through nature, and the ways we can turn ordinary moments into something sacred by simplifying, appreciating and making space in our day for the unseen.
As our world gets ever more complicated and disconnected, I love finding beauty in the simple things. With good friends and a healthy bit of not-taking-ourselves-too-seriously, we remember and affirm our connection to Source.
